How to get started with Pilates

Pilates is a wonderful exercise program that helps to build core and muscle strength, gain flexibility and reduce stress  through very specific movements. Keeping this in mind, Reform Pilates and Fitness recommends that all new clients complete one of the New Client Introductory packages before entering a class setting. This is very important to get the maximum results, increase confidence in class, and stay safe.

Policies

Scheduling
All scheduling and changes should be made on the Mind Body scheduler.
Running Late
We ask that you arrive on time for class. The warm-up is very important. The warm up prepares the body and mind for the workout. We do not want you to get hurt. If you are running late, please stretch for a few minutes before entering class quietly and please start the workout with care.
Packages and Memberships
All packages and memberships are non-refundable. All sessions and packages expire 30 days after the use of the first session.
Gripped Toe Socks
Barefoot training is amazing for the body, both outside and inside. All Reform classes are designed around barefoot training; so we require the use of gripped toe socks when attending classes. The use of gripped toe socks will keep your feet surefooted and clean. Reform carries TOESOX® in a variety of styles and colors for your convenience.

Frequently Asked Questions

First time doing Pilates?
Pilates is an amazing and powerful movement method. It was designed to be progressive and the movements are specific. With that in mind, we recommend that all clients complete at least one of Reform Pilates and Fitness’s New Client Introductory Packages. It is crucial to start off the right way to maximize workouts, get results, and keep from injury.
What to wear
All of our classes are full body workouts designed around functional whole-body movements. What does this mean? You will bend, stretch, squat, twist, and basically move your body in all the ways your body was designed to move; so wear comfortable stretchy clothes that will move with you. You don’t have to wear a second skin but you don’t want to wear oversized clothing in which you will get tangled. Most clients wear full-length or half-length pants. (If you wear shorts please wear biker shorts underneath.)
Towels and Hydration
Don’t be fooled by pictures of pretty, smiling people with perfect makeup. You will totally sweat; so bring a towel and some water.
Mats
We have mats that you can use but feel free to bring your own if you have one that you really love to use.
